Texas Car Accident May Prompt Wrongful Death Claim

Motor vehicle collisions can have tragic results that affect the lives of families forever. When a car accident causes the death of an individual, the consequences can be even more devastating. A recent automobile crash in Texas has ended the life of the victim, in addition to the life of the man deemed responsible.

Authorities report that an auto accident occurred one recent Saturday night. A 23-year-old man was traveling east along a roadway prior to attempting to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. As his car moved through the lane of opposing traffic, it crashed into another automobile head-on. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor leading to the fatal collision.

The 59-year-old man that had been traveling in the westbound lane was killed in the wrong-way crash and declared dead at the site by officials. The Texas Department of Public Safety has filed charges of intoxication manslaughter against the driver allegedly responsible for the car accident for the death of the victim. He is currently in jail with a bail set near $100,000.

This fatal Texas car accident took the life of one man as another driver traveled along the roadway in the wrong direction, officials state. In addition to the manslaughter charges that the driver faces, the loved ones of the deceased victim have the right to file civil claims for his wrongful death. These claims may give the family a sense of comfort in their grief and may potentially lead to compensation for some of the end of life expenses and other financial losses that they are now facing.
